Finches
are very vulnerable when sick. There are no guarantees that
any particular course of action is going to work. Inappropriate
treatment will likely make things worse quickly. Even when
treating at a vet, there are no guarantees the bird will recover.
A sick
finch's best chance is always going to be with a qualified
avian veterinarian. If you choose to try to handle the illness
on your own, you always do so at your own risk. While the
information I provide is accurate to my knowledge, I am not
an avian veterinarian. That which I do not know about avian
health far outweighs the small portion that I do know. I share
what I have learned only to help those interested in finding
that information. By sharing my practices, I am not recommending
them but only explaining them. There are no guarantees that
my experiences are typical of other aviculturists experiences.
